Some let you choose the fabric, width and even length:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themodestman.com\/viola-milano-bespoke-ties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"6640\" data-lasso-name=\"Viola Milano - Bespoke Ties\">Viola Milano<\/a> &#8211; as short as 53.5&#8243;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shibumi-firenze.com\/bespoke-ties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"6641\">Shibumi<\/a> &#8211; as short as 53&#8243;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themodestman.com\/sam-hober-custom-ties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"6642\" data-lasso-name=\"Sam Hober - Custom Ties\">Sam Hober<\/a> &#8211; true bespoke (any length)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep in mind, these are made to order and will take minimum 2-4 weeks to deliver, depending on where you live.<\/p>\n<p>So custom ties aren&#8217;t a good solution if you need something to wear, say, this weekend. But if you have time to spare, it&#8217;s a solid option.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_you_wear_boys_ties\"><\/span>Can you wear boys&#8217; ties?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You may be tempted to buy neckties from the young men&#8217;s department, but these will likely be too short for you.<\/p>\n<p>Most boys&#8217; ties come in at 48&#8243; long, which is way too short for most adults (even those who are a few inches below average height).<\/p>\n<p>This is one area where buying &#8220;kids&#8221; sizes won&#8217;t work, unless you&#8217;re shorter than 5&#8217;3&#8243; and only use small knots like the Four in Hand.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ties_You_Already_Own\"><\/span>Ties You Already Own<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>What about all of the ties you already own? All rights reserved.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If the Prince Albert (or Double Four in Hand) is still too long, try a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themodestman.com\/half-windsor-knot\/\" data-lasso-id=\"6646\">Half Windsor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is the perfect solution if your tie is just a few inches too long.<\/p>\n<h3>Get Them Tailored<\/h3>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the thing about altering ties: it&#8217;s not hard to make a fat tie skinny, but it is hard to make a long tie shorter.<\/p>\n<p>This is especially true for ties with any sort of pattern, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themodestman.com\/how-to-wear-stripes\/\" data-lasso-id=\"43780\">stripes<\/a> or dots. Solid color ties are easier to shorten, but most tailors still don&#8217;t know how to do it.<\/p>\n<p>Unless you have an expensive tie that you absolutely love, I wouldn&#8217;t recommend tailoring. It&#8217;ll be hard to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themodestman.com\/how-to-find-a-tailor\/\" data-lasso-id=\"6647\">find tailor<\/a> who wants to do this (and who can do it), and the cost may be prohibitive.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_choice_is_yours%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>The choice is yours&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Yes, most ties are too long for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themodestman.com\/category\/inspiration\/men-of-modest-height\/\" data-lasso-id=\"6648\">short guys<\/a>.
